Name:

People start to call this bear specie "Sun bear" because they believe that the orange-yellow fur on the bear chest is pretty much like the sun so they just combine this believe to the name of this specie. This is how they form the name "Sun Bear". Sun Bear is also call Honey bear. The fact that Sun bear is call "Honey bear" is because this type of bear speice love to eat honey. 

 

Appearence: 

Sun bear have an orange-yellow color fur that rap around their neck or on their chest, the shape that the colour create is a shape of a horseshoe. The orange-yellow colour around their neck is repersent as the rising sun. Beside from that part the Sun Bear have a short and sleek black fur, which mean that their fur are really smooth. 

 

Special Feature:

The special feature that a Sun bear have is that they have loose skin that help them to trun their body really fast, especially when a species attack them. Sun bear have a really long and sharp claw that allow them to tear open a few kind of tree and open up harden fruit with their claw such as coconut. They also have a long tongue that make it easier for them to slurp up the food that is located inside the tree such as insects.  

 

Sun bear diet:

Reality Sun bear are Omnivore but they are consider as Canivore because they have a lot of similarity feature that a conivore speices have. Sun bear eat meat and plant for their daily diet. The food that they eat are lizards, little birds, rodents, insects, termites, fruit, berries, seed and honey.  

 

Location:

Sun bear is a type of bear species that can only be found in southeast asia which are these countries Cambodia, Loas, Southern China, Eastern India, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, West Malaysia, Indonesia and the islands of Borneo, Sumatra and Java. According to the IUCN species threatened red list they say that Sun bear use to exist in SIngapore but right now it have been fully extinct becuase of the country development.
